three figures..

without a face between them..

Leonardo would not approve..

that these figures..

have beautiful faces..

but they have to keep them covered..

so as not to create desire..

incite lust..

THE OPPOSITE OF PORN

hide beauty and avoid lust..

like covering up..

the legs of a piano..

the human face..

is the most erotic..

part of the body..

THE EYES HAVE IT

they attract..

they stare into yours as you climax..

you know how to climax don't you.

you just put your lips together..

this is where the action starts..

when you are teen aged..

you want to see the hidden parts..

the opposite sex..

but you miss the obvious..

so  maybe mona..

is the racy image..

faces in art..

and photography..

all portraits..

of profane love..

back at the souk..

it looks like three figures in burkas..

but really..

it's just a gesture..

or three strokes of the brush..

the big square at the back..

well that all started as a carpet..

a simplification of the souk..

into a single shape..

a magic carpet maybe..

a sacred symbol perhaps..

bourn back ceaselessly..

into the mystic..

TAKE FIVE

I was showing my stuff around some..

london galleries in the 1980's

 

and francis kyle took two of these and sold them..

the photo from 'the seven year itch' set..

is printed in flourescent half tone..

 

cut in to with star shaped flaps..

which are folded back and underlaid by a 2nd print..

and then overlaid with a black halftone of the same image..

neat huh?

WOMEN WASHING

happy with his first punt..

francis asked me to submit a work..

inspired by 'women washing'

I was exited and set about creating..

a flap piece to fit the challenge..

I of course..

failed to ascertain his true idea..

which was more bonnard then warhol..

so anyway my work was not included in the exhibition..

 "In 1980 Stone was a contributor to the Gallery's theme exhibition, Women Washing and seven years later he participated in Now, Fair River..."

here is my version of women washing..

  

so - flaps r us... innit!

I guess i'm just a wheel re-inventor..

a wrong end of the stick kind of guy..

or perhaps I just think different..
